Little Stars Early Years is overseen by our Board of Trustees. They are responsible for the charity and ensuring it meets its aims and objectives. Our Board is made up of  several professionals from a wide range of areas. They each bring their own unique expertise to the Board offering their knowledge and guidance to best help the charity and our families. The Board comprises of:

Chair of Trustees -Mrs. Laura McMain – Senior Procurement Officer, Northumbrian Water, Durham. Laura is able to provide links to providers of services such as printing and uniforms. She sits on the trustees using her ‘Just an hour’ time as part of the companies commitment to community work. She is also able to access various funding and support services for the charity. She too sits on other committees including funding boards. She has significant knowledge and experiences to bring to the committee

Treasurer – Mrs. Julie Relf – Director, Applause Accountancy, County Durham. Julie acts as our treasurer reviewing our accounts on a monthly basis and undertaking payroll for staff. She advises on all financial issues. She has experience sitting on a charities boards of trustees and has 2 young children of her own.

Chief Executive – Mrs. Kate Luther – Also acts as manager of the setting and nominated person for OFSTED registration. Initially the owner of the setting Kate is a qualified and experienced early years teacher. She was in charge of the setting from the beginning including during the last inspection.  She also has experience of working in the Sedgefield Borough Councils Regeneration Section overseeing regeneration budgets and working in other childcare charities.

Trustee – Mr. Stephen Wallace – is a parent at Little Stars. His little girl has attended from the age of 2 and he has continued to be involved with the setting.

Trustee – Mrs. Joanne Bromley is a headteacher of a primary school within County Durham. The school incorporates nursery provision. She has many years of teaching experience. She offers a wealth of knowledge surrounding education, safeguarding and special educational needs as well operational knowledge.
